Theme: 'Delphiniums'
We start our photo guided tour in Norman's front garden, although this was entered, a fine display of 'Fountain Series' miniature Delphiniums welcomes you. It was because of their easterly aspect that they
survived the gales that destroyed most of his roof troughs and hanging baskets in the back garden. The show Pinks at the border are 'Margaret Gee' and 'Romance'.

Theme: 'Relax'
This is the first view of the garden from the side entrance or patio door. A massed bed of fresh looking, healthy plants grown from seed although they are F2, which gives way to clumps of Beardless irises, now sadly finished flowering. The rose is 'Dublin Bay', a modern climber with clusters of full, bright crimson flowers. Vigorous plant with good darkish-green foliage. A useful pillar rose,
but unfortunately like many on the south coast it was stripped of blooms and foliage in the gales.

Theme: 'Kitchen Basket'
The first of many hanging baskets that cover the back wall. All plants are grown from cuttings taken in January so despite the appearance Norman doesn't give the local nurseries much business. These are Surfinias, great for baskets as they are the only true trailing petunias.

Theme: 'Next years Gladioli corms'
Hidden away in one of two greenhouses is the secret to Norman's success on the show bench. her are pots of mainly Primulinus Gladioli grown from his hybridizing of these, the most dainty of the gladiolus cultivars. An early
flowered Gladioli is 'Heron Jewel', a 300 size being grown on in pots to produce corms for next year.
